An all-time favorite artist of ours, Erika Gutierrez is a painter and illustrator who lives in Colombia. Her art suggests experience beyond her 32 years. She studied plastic arts at Bellas Artes in Cali Columbia and currently lives in Bogota.
We love the colors and details and of her works – her expression through this medium is both beautiful and remarkable. Herikita tells the stories of her life through her works. Her emotions spilling out in great detail. Herikita often paints in the night hours when she is unable to sleep – this peace and darkness gives her the opportunity to create without disruption. She herself is often the subject of her painting and if there is a female in the work, it is always Herikita.
She has worked for clients such as: The Washington Post, the South Korean brand Ader Error, ID magazine, society6, Food for the Hungry, Min and Mon bags, Rookie Magazine, Colombian magazines, exhibitions with the Son Espace gallery at fairs such as YIA YOUNG INTERNATIONAL ARTIST, PREVIEW BERLIN, ART COPENHAGEN, CONTEMPORARY ISTAMBUL among other.
The selections of Erika’s work in Curated Shelfie Boxes are just a sampling of her vibrant color and shape.
